Job summary

Black & McDonald Limited in Saskatoon, SK is seeking an experienced Service HVAC technician to join our Service Division. The role reports to the Service Supervisor and focuses on RTU/HVAC systems, troubleshooting, and proactive customer service.

You will inspect components, perform checks, and document service records while working outdoors in varying weather. The ideal candidate brings HVAC certification, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to read blueprints and comply with local codes.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a HVAC technician.
• HVAC certification.
• Bra- sing and soldering skills.
• Knowledge of local building codes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and compliance schematics.
• Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work on RTUs and HVAC systems.
• Inspect system components including compressors, condensers, evaporators, fan motors, fans, and expansion valves.
• Perform system checks, system troubleshooting, and refrigerant recovery.
• Perform electrical and gas system troubleshooting.
• Maintain records including daily service logs, refrigerant recovery reports, and service records.
• Research and resolve complex system problems.
• Complete assigned paperwork and forms.
• Conduct safety inspections and verify PPE compliance.

Black & McDonald is currently seeking an experienced Service HVAC tech to join our Service Division in Saskatoon, SK! If you are a hands-on, customer service-oriented, and technically inclined professional searching for the opportunity to build a solid foundation for your career, this position is for you. The HVAC Technician position is located in Saskatoon, SK and will report directly to the Service Supervisor.

We’re looking for an experienced HVAC/Plumber Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will have experience working with a variety of RTU/HVAC systems and be able to troubleshoot and repair issues as they arise. We are primarily an HVAC company but do work on chillers and smaller refrigeration systems

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Work on RTUs and HVAC systems

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience as a HVAC technician.
• HVAC certification.
• Braising and soldering skills.
• Knowledge of local building codes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and compliance schematics.
• Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Clean Class 5 SK Driver’s License and abstract
