Job summary

Kal Tire in Paradise, NL, is seeking a Red Seal or 310S licensed Automotive Service Technician. You’ll service a range of vehicles in a dealership-level shop, mentor apprentices, and help build our mechanical program while enjoying a flexible schedule and opportunities for advancement.

Starting wages are $38–$43 per hour, with potential to become a Lead Tech. Additional benefits include extended health, dental, vision, profit sharing, RRSP matching, and paid vacation for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Certified Automotive Service Technician 310S or Red Seal is required.
• Valid driver’s license is mandatory.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in front-end brakes, shocks, and wheel alignment.
• Skilled in inspections, diagnostics, adjustments, service and repair on various vehicles.
• Must be safety conscious and follow PPE and work protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of general mechanical services including brake/suspension repairs, engine diagnostics, and routine maintenance.
• Mentor and coach apprentices to develop their skills in a learning-focused environment.
• Collaborate with a skilled team on vehicles from standard cars to light trucks.
• Identify potential mechanical opportunities with the Sales team.

Join our store where you’ll work in a dealership-level shop servicing all vehicle brands, performing everything from routine maintenance to complex diagnostics, with proficiency in Diesel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, engine repairs/replacements, and advanced troubleshooting.

Day To Day Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of general mechanical services, including brake and suspension repairs, engine diagnostics, and routine maintenance.
• Mentor and coach apprentices, sharing your expertise and helping develop their skills in a supportive, learning-focused environment.
• Collaborate with a highly skilled team, working on an array of vehicles, from standard passenger cars to light trucks.
• Assist in identifying potential mechanical opportunities with the Sales team.
• Ensure the highest standards of safety and quality are maintained.

Qualifications And Success

• You are certified as an Automotive Service Technician 310s or Licensed Mechanic.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in front-end brakes, shocks, and wheel alignment.
• Skilled at inspections, diagnostics, adjustments, service, and repair on various vehicles.
• Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Motivated, positive attitude, respectful work environment, and develop team members in a positive atmosphere.
• Being safety conscious is of utmost importance - always wear required PPE and follow instructed work protocols.
