Job summary

MDE - MENUISERIE DE L'ESTRIE in Montreal seeks an experienced woodworker to operate woodworking machines, shape surfaces, read plans, and apply finishes. On-site role in a custom cabinet shop requiring attention to detail and reliable teamwork.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of woodworking experience, at least a secondary school certificate, and strong manual dexterity for precise work on doors and frames. Fluency in English or French preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in woodworking or cabinetmaking is preferred (2–3 years).
• Ability to read plans and measurements.
• Proficient in applying finishes and coatings to wood.

Responsibilities

• Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components.
• Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
• Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made.
• Apply varnish, veneer, stain or polish to finished products.
