Job summary

Sehmbi Renovation Inc. is looking for an on-site woodworker to help design, build, and finish custom cabinets and wooden fixtures. You will study plans, select materials, and shape components using hand tools and power equipment to ensure precise fits.

The role requires basic education and 7 months to under 1 year of carpentry experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team at our Canadian location.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in woodworking or related field.

Responsibilities

• Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components
• Prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets that maximize storage
• Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
• Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made
• Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit and reinforce joints
• Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics
• Apply varnish, veneer, stain or polish to finished products
• Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures and related products
