Role Description The Journeyman Welder is a full-time, on-site role based in Edmonton, AB, responsible for performing structural and miscellaneous steel welding to support industrial and commercial fabrication projects. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting drawings and blueprints, setting up welding equipment, and completing high-quality welds on frames, platforms, ladders, handrails, pipe supports, and other structural components. The role involves inspecting welds for conformance to CWB and company standards, performing basic fitting and layout, and collaborating with production staff, supervisors, and quality control personnel. The Journeyman Welder will follow all safety procedures, maintain equipment, and contribute to a clean, organized work area while meeting project timelines and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong welding skills, including proficiency in Welding, Arc Welding, MIG Welding
• Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Materials, including structural steel types, welding consumables, and basic metallurgy relevant to fabrication.
• Journeyperson Welder certification or equivalent trade qualification, with CWB tickets for structural welding.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols with attention to accuracy and detail.
• Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices, including familiarity with OSHA/OH&S requirements and use of PPE.
• Experience in industrial or commercial structural steel fabrication, including fitting, layout, and working with shop equipment and tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in a team environment, and reliability in meeting production schedules.
