Job summary

Total Group of Companies is seeking a Welder-Fitter for our Bowmanville shop. You will work on large parts and full‑scale structural steel fabrication, reading blueprints and welding to tight tolerances.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years MIG experience, a welding certificate or diploma, and the ability to obtain a CWB ticket. This full‑time role offers company benefits and regular daytime shifts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years experience with MIG welding is essential.
  • Welding Certificate or Diploma program an asset.
  • CWB weld ticket preferred, or capable of obtaining ticket.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with little supervision or direction.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work overtime when required.
  • Must be able to weld 1/16" to 3/8" and pass an in-house weld test.
  • Commitment to quality and workplace safety.

Responsibilities

  • Work with large parts and custom structural steel fabrication.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics for welding process.
  • Fit, fabricate and weld metal and structural components.
  • Cut, drill, bevel and grind metal parts for proper welds.
  • Lay-out, position, and align parts prior to welding.
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, bolt parts for proper configurations.
  • Operate hand and power tools common to welding (wheel & die grinder).
  • Examine work pieces for defects and measure with tools and jigs.

We have an immediate opening for a Welder-Fitter at our Bowmanville shop.

What you will be doing:
  • Work with large parts/fabrications and custom structural steel fabrication.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
  • Fitting, fabricating and welding metal and structural components.
  • Cut, drill, bevel and grind metal parts to ensure proper fit-up for welding.
  • Lay-out, position, and align parts and assemblies prior to welding.
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, bolt parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
  • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as wheel & die grinder.
  • Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces using measuring tools and jigs.
Qualifications you should have:

What we offer:

$26.00/hour

Shifts (Monday to Thursday: 7:00AM to 04:30PM & Friday: 7:00AM to 03:30PM)
