Job summary

Forbes Bros. Group of Companies is seeking a Journeyman Powerline Technician to assist in the construction and maintenance of distribution powerlines.

The role requires a valid Journeyperson certificate and experience in distribution or transmission, with a strong commitment to working safely. Responsibilities include field work on high- and low-voltage systems, troubleshooting overhead and underground lines, and collaboration with the crew to ensure quality and safety on projects across Canada

Qualifications

• Red Seal certification or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair high- and low-voltage distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair overhead and underground distribution lines.
• Construct new distribution powerlines across all phases, including framing of wood and steel structures.
• Perform conductor stringing and cable pulling in overhead and civil environments.
• Support setup and operation of pulling and tensioning equipment.
• Operate equipment used in the construction and maintenance of distribution powerlines.
• Maintain interior, exterior, overhead, and underground electrical distribution systems.
