Job summary

Hall Mechanical is seeking a Mechanical Foreman for a full-time, permanent role in our Vancouver area team. You will organize scheduled installations of building mechanical systems, supervise crews, and mentor junior staff while ensuring compliance with drawings, specs and directives.

The successful candidate will have a Plumbing Journeyperson credential,Hydronic system experience is a plus, and a strong focus on safety, quality, and customer service.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience in a foreman or lead hand role.
• Registered Plumbing Journeyperson.
• Basic security clearance, clean drivers abstract.

Responsibilities

• Organize & maintain scheduled installations of building mechanical systems.
• Install materials, equipment, and systems per specifications, drawings, site instructions, and change orders.
• Report to the Superintendent for mentorship as needed.
• Diagnose design issues with plumbing, gas, HVAC systems to ensure design intent.
• Supervise workers, coordinate manpower with contractors.
• Test all mechanical systems to meet local codes and engineer specs.
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications.

Your day-to-day will look like:

• Organize & maintain scheduled installations of building mechanical systems
• To install all materials, equipment, and systems in a proficient and correct manner in accordance with Specifications, Drawings, Site Instructions, Approved Change Orders/Directives.
• Report directly to Superintendent for mentorship as needed.
• Diagnoses design issues regarding plumbing, gas, heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems and/or components for the purpose of identifying problems and needs necessary for the design intent to work properly
• Supervise workers and projects, train or arrange training, coordinate manpower pertaining to the contract with the developer / general contractor
• Responsible for testing all mechanical systems meeting local jurisdictions and engineer specifications
• To impart to the Superintendent or Project Management team any efficiencies or cost saving measures felt necessary to maximize project effectiveness. To work in a safe and timely manner and report to the Site Supervisor/PM team any inability to do so.
• Ability to read an interpret drawings/schematics and specifications as required.

You have the following qualifications, technical and interpersonal skills:

Qualifications:

• 5 years experience in a foreman or lead hand role.
• Registered Plumbing Journeyperson.
• Basic security clearance, clean drivers abstract.

Technical Skills:

• Hydronic experience in heating, cooling, mechanical rooms, grooved, victaulic and cast iron experience. (considered and asset).
• Experienced in Safely working in and around construction sites.
• Knowledge and skills of industry standard safe work practices.
