Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a Journeyman Millwright to install, repair and maintain machinery in our production facility.

You will ensure machines operate safely and efficiently while following company rules and safety standards. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will disassemble and reassemble components, troubleshoot equipment, and manage time across a rotating 12-hour shift schedule that includes days, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts on rotation between days and nights, including weekends. The hours of work will be primarily Wednesday through Saturday (40 hours, day shift).
  • Must possess an Interprovincial Millwright License
  • Previous maintenance experience in an industrial plant/manufacturing setting is an asset
  • Must be able to learn computer-based maintenance software

Responsibilities

  • Repair broken or defective machine parts, using welding and brazing tools.
  • Align equipment by using specialized tools.
  • Review and follow highly technical and complex machinery manuals.
  • Disassemble machine parts, repair them, and reassemble the parts.
  • Collect and store distinct machinery parts.
  • Troubleshoot and repair shingle manufacturing equipment.

Role: Journeyman Millwright

Job Summary: Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the primary roles and responsibilities of a Journeyman Millwright are to install new machinery, repair and replace defective machine parts or machinery, and ensure machines work properly in the production facility while respecting the company’s safety rules and regulations, ultimately creating a safe and orderly workplace.

Compensation: Starting rate is at $44.11/Hour

  • Must possess superior analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential
  • Ability to manage time effectively while handling multiple jobs with varying priorities
  • Must be able to work in a team setting with other tradesmen.
