Job summary

Trotter & Morton Facility Services seeks a Journeyperson HVAC Technician to join our team in Calgary. You will read blueprints, lay out installations, and assemble HVAC components across commercial and institutional facilities.

With a minimum of five years as a Journeyman, you will install, troubleshoot, and service HVAC systems, start-ups, leak checks, and refrigerant recharges while mentoring apprentices and ensuring safety standards are met. Excellent teamwork and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Trade Certification or Red Seal is required.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Journeyman HVAC technician.
• Chiller and Cooling Tower experience is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings or other specifications.
• Measure and lay out reference points for installation.
• Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components.
• Measure and cut piping, and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment.
• Install, troubleshoot and overhaul HVAC/R systems.
• Start up system and test for leaks.
• Recharge system with refrigerant and test regulators.
• Repair and replace parts for refrigeration/AC/ventilation systems.
• May service refrigerated trucking equipment.
• Provide service and customer support during field visits.
• Communicate with Dispatch for scheduling and optimization.
• May prepare work estimates for clients.
• Mentor apprentices.
