Job summary

West Fraser's Manning Forest Products division seeks a Journeyperson Electrician (or 3rd/4th year apprentice) to maintain electrical systems in our sawmill. Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will contribute to daily maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive programs to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.

The role requires strong communication, problem solving, and the ability to work 7 on/7 off shifts, with rotating days and nights.

Qualifications

• Must have a Journeyperson Certification or be a 3rd/4th year apprentice progressing toward certification.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience in electrical maintenance in industrial settings is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment.

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will be a key player in the company-wide continuous improvement effort by using troubleshooting, predictive, and preventive maintenance strategies daily.

You’ll Do:

• Maintain a safe work environment
• Ensure consistent operations of all electrical equipment in the sawmill
• Verify and document repairs
• Monitor product quality and provide feedback
• Use of RsLogix programing software (5,500,5000)
• Preventative maintenance and small construction projects
• Troubleshooting for various pieces of equipment, with other trades
• Shift is 7 days on/7 days off: rotating day shift and night shift

You have:

• Several years of experience as an Electrician
• A valid Journeyperson Certification is required
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills
• Demonstrated problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
• An understanding of Process Controls and Instrumentation, including but not limited to electric over pneumatic, or hydraulic
• 4 th year Apprentices are encouraged to apply

Considered a strong asset:

• Previous experience working in a sawmill or an industrial environment
