Job summary

Control Tech is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to provide on-site installation, servicing, diagnostics and repairs for customers’ electrical products and equipment. You will read schematics and P&ID drawings, troubleshoot with electrical test tools, and mentor apprentices while complying with safety programs and company policies.

Qualifications

• Journeyman or interprovincial Red Seal Certificate in electrical.
• Experience in oil and gas industry is an asset.
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol test is required; background check may be requested; clean driving record may be required.

Responsibilities

• Completes QA/QC redlines for as-built construction drawings.
• Reads and interprets schematics and drawings related to electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings and electrical code specifications.
• Repairs and adjusts system components (sensors, transmitters, programmable logic controllers, etc.); replaces defective parts.
• Pulls wire through conduits, holes, and splice, join, and connect wire to form circuits.
• Tests circuits to ensure integrity and safety.
• Completes daily field work orders and maintains hours worked and equipment used.
• Senior Journeyman will complete on the job training documents for Junior Technicians; mentors apprentices.
• Provides on-call support as required.
• Participates/complies with company safety programs and company policies.
• Other duties as required.
