Job summary

The University of Victoria is seeking a skilled electrician to perform tradesperson level electrical work on building maintenance or new installations under supervision. You will use standard tools and equipment and contribute to safe, reliable electrical systems across university facilities.

As part of a team, you will complete timekeeping, coordinate with faculty and staff, and support project readiness. A BC Red Seal qualification and a valid BC Class 5 license are required, along with safety

Qualifications

• Journeyperson electrical certification required.
• Red Seal BC or interprovincial required.
• Safety training and knowledge of codes and Work Safe BC regulations.
• Valid BC Class 5 driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Performs tradesperson-level skilled electrical work on building maintenance or new installations as assigned.
• Completes timekeeping and recording work associated with the tasks.
• Maintains safe working conditions.
• Troubleshoots electrical problems related to building systems.
• Prepares for project work in assigned areas of responsibility.
• Uses typical tools, machinery, and equipment of the trade.
• Operates a light truck, Gators, or similar vehicles.
