Job summary

A leading company in the MEP construction industry is seeking Apprentices and Journeymen to join their team. This role focuses on developing trade and leadership skills while working on various projects across Canada. Candidates should be flexible, willing to travel, and committed to safety and excellence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • For Apprentices: eligible or registered with a recognized Canadian trade board.
  • For Journeymen: registered with a recognized trade board, ideally with Red Seal certification.

Responsibilities

  • Actively pursue learning opportunities to become skilled and qualified.
  • Work under mentorship with increasing independence.
  • Participate in safety programs and comply with safety legislation.

All trades report to the project’s Field Supervisor, with supervisors changing as you move between projects.

YOUR SQUAD

_________________________

Our projects are across Canada, often in remote regions. Depending on the project phase, your squad may be small or large, with a mix of trades. Your squad composition will vary based on project needs.

All Ryfan employees are expected to be flexible team players, often traveling to remote locations. "Not in my job description" is not part of our culture.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Developing your trade and leadership skills is a key entrepreneurial opportunity. Many of our Apprentices and Journeymen advance to run their own businesses, move to other companies, or grow within Ryfan. We focus on developing strong tradespeople and leaders.

All trades (Apprentices and Journeymen) are responsible for:

Develop Your Trade Skills
  • Actively pursue learning opportunities to become a skilled, qualified, and versatile worker across Canada.
  • Work under mentorship with increasing independence.
  • Complete tasks to high standards and in a timely manner.
  • Report your activities accurately and promptly.
  • Utilize technology effectively for communication, safety, and reporting.
Develop Your Business & Leadership Skills
  • Communicate calmly and effectively to resolve issues.
  • Understand how your work impacts project profitability and client satisfaction.
  • Learn how scope management and site issues are handled.
  • Follow policies and procedures, providing feedback for improvement.
Participate in Safety Programs
  • Comply with all safety legislation and policies.
  • Use PPE and safety equipment properly.
  • Maintain tools and safety training up to date.

Your responsibilities will evolve over time to support company and project goals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.

Ability to travel within Canada, including compliance with COVID vaccination requirements.

For Apprentices: eligible or registered with a recognized Canadian trade board.

For Journeymen: registered with a recognized trade board, ideally with Red Seal certification.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Ability to learn and use technology daily.

Strong communication skills to share information and collaborate effectively.
