Job summary

JEN COL Construction is seeking a Journeyman Carpenter or Apprentice to join our Grande Prairie team. The role involves constructing, erecting, installing, maintaining, and repairing wooden and mixed-material structures under supervision.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, maintaining safety, using carpentry tools, and contributing to Lean practices. Candidates should have two years of carpentry experience and be able to work in varying outdoor conditions while adhering to PPE

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints for work planning.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
• Perform carpentry tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Observe and comply with safety regulations and procedures.
• Learn and participate in Lean practices to reduce waste.
• Read blueprints and plan tasks accordingly.
• Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment.
• Layout tasks across the project duration including foundations and framing.
• Build forms, foundations, walls, and roof framing as required.
• Insulate, drywall, mud/tape, and paint surfaces.
• Erect roof components and work at heights.
• Frame and install doors/windows, flooring, ceilings, and trim.
• Check work accuracy and adjust as needed.
• Transport materials to the work area.
• Participate in Quality Control processes.
