Trican Well Service Ltd. in Whitecourt, Alberta, is seeking a Journeyman/3rd-4th Year Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our field team.

You will diagnose, repair and service heavy equipment, with emphasis on safety and reliability in a dynamic environment. The role requires a current Heavy Duty Mechanic certification (or 3rd/4th year apprentice), a valid Class 1 license preferred, and the ability to work independently or with others.

Qualifications

• 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice or Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification is required
• CVIP is considered an asset
• Valid Class 1 license preferred; Class 3 or 5 will be considered
• Heavy Equipment Technician will be an asset
• Safe driving skills; driver’s abstract will be requested
• Physically fit – heavy lifting required
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Capable of collaborating effectively within a team as well as working independently

Responsibilities

• Ensure that Trican’s core value, “Safe equipment and operations” is the priority in all activities
• Operate a hoist and lift device to position machinery in a safe manner
• Inspect and examine vehicles and equipment
• Service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain vehicles and perform other routine maintenance work
• Keep up to date with industry standards and regulations
• Provide guidance and instruction to less experienced operators, or apprentice maintenance personnel
