Job summary

Compass-Group is seeking a dedicated Custodian/Janitor to support Bow Valley College in Calgary. The role focuses on keeping facilities clean and safe through heavy cleaning tasks, floor care, and sanitization of walls, windows, and fixtures.

The ideal candidate will take initiative to identify areas needing attention, follow infection-control plans, and perform tasks such as trash disposal, dusting, damp mopping, and floor refinishing. 3 years of heavy-duty cleaning experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Keeps buildings clean with heavy cleaning duties, floor care, and surface sanitation.
• Disposes of trash following infection control procedures.
• Performs dusting, damp mopping, and cleaning of walls, glass and baseboards.

Responsibilities

• Keep facilities clean and orderly, performing heavy cleaning duties.
• Collect and dispose of trash according to approved procedures.
• Dust and damp mop floors and clean surfaces as required.
• Move and reposition furniture for cleaning and return to correct spots.
• Strip, scrub, buff and refinished floors; shampoo carpets as needed.

Job SummaryHow you will make an impact:You will be responsible for keeping buildings clean and orderly, and performing heavy cleaning duties, including cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.As a Custodian/ Janitor, you will:Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plansDust and damp mops floors following approved proceduresMove equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and place furniture back in correct placementClean assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment.
