Acadia University is seeking a dedicated Custodian/Janitor to maintain clean and safe facilities on campus. Responsibilities include heavy cleaning, floor care, washing walls and glass, and trash disposal in accordance with infection control plans.

The role requires the ability to follow instructions, work independently and as part of a team, with strong English communication. Prior housekeeping experience is an asset and WHMIS/BSW certifications are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping/custodian work is an asset.
• WHMIS and BSW Certifications are an asset.
• Good command of English (spoken and written).
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsabilités

• Keep buildings clean and orderly; perform heavy cleaning duties.
• Clean floors, shampoo rugs, wash walls and glass, and remove rubbish.
• Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dust and damp mop floors following approved procedures.
• Move equipment and furniture for cleaning and place back in correct placement.
• Sanitize all surfaces and wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items.

Job SummaryHow you will make an impact:You will be responsible for keeping buildings clean and orderly, and performing heavy cleaning duties, including cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.As a Custodian/ Janitor, you will:Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plansDust and damp mops floors following approved proceduresMove equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and place furniture back in correct placementClean assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment.
