Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Janitor/Driver to keep facilities clean and orderly, with heavy cleaning duties and driving responsibilities. The role involves disposing trash, sanitizing surfaces, and moving supplies, with shifts around 11 hours per day and a 20/10 rotation.

A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required. Wage starts at $19.25 per hour, with final compensation based on skills and internal equity.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and provide clean driving record.
  • 1+ year previous janitorial experience
  • WHMIS Certification is an asset
  • Good command of English language, both verbal and written
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job

Responsibilities

  • Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans
  • Daily cleaning of public areas, bathrooms, hallways, lobby, and storage rooms
  • Delivery of linen and supplies to storage rooms
  • Dust and damp mops floors following approved procedures
  • Move equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and place furniture back in correct placement
  • Clean assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment. Sanitize all surfaces.
  • Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff
  • Seek out areas requiring cleaning; take initiative to complete the task
  • Strip, scrub, buff and refinish floors, shampoo carpet
  • Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor

Job description

As the Janitor/Driver you will be responsible for keeping buildings clean and orderly, and performing heavy cleaning duties, including cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Driving is required for this position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans

Position Requirements
  • 1 year valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record must be provided
  • Will be required to pass a test driving a Ford F150 Pickup truck
  • Pass a Drug & Alcohol Test
  • Pass a Criminal Record Check
  • Shift: 11hr/Day
  • Rotation: 20 Days On/10 Days Off

The hourly wage for this position is $19.25. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
