Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a dedicated custodian/janitor to keep facilities clean and orderly, performing heavy cleaning tasks and moving furniture as needed. The role includes driving between sites and adhering to infection control practices to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff.

We offer overtime after 40 hours, benefits after 3 months, and travel and accommodations provided where required.

Qualifications

• 1+ year custodian/janitorial experience in a commercial or camp environment.
• Have a valid Driver's License.
• WHMIS and BSW Certifications an asset.
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job.

Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dust and damp mops floors following approved procedures.
• Move equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and place furniture back in correct placement.
• Clean assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment. Sanitize all surfaces.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Seek out areas requiring cleaning; take initiative to complete the task.
• Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Strip, scrub, buff and refinish floors, shampoo carpet.
• Driving is required for this position.

Position Requirements:

• Pass a Drug & Alcohol Test
• Shift: 10hr/Day
• Rotation: 21 Days on/ 7 Days off

The hourly wage for this position is $22.00.Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
