Job summary

Purdys Chocolatier in Vancouver, BC is seeking a dedicated Janitor for a six-month contract to support our Chocolate Factory team. You will help maintain a clean, safe facility and ensure food safety standards are met, with potential for permanent promotion based on performance.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, offering a competitive hourly rate and opportunities to join a respected Canadian chocolatier. Unionized environment and safety footwear required.

Responsibilities

• Follow GMP, SQF, and food safety policies and procedures.
• Perform quality checks and maintain records in the Quality Management System.

• Complete preventative maintenance tasks and maintain documentation.
• Support safety initiatives and identify hazards.
• Assist with other duties as required.

As a proud Canadian chocolatier, Purdys Chocolatier creates connection and joy through the power of chocolate. We're looking for a dedicated Janitor to join our Chocolate Factory team in Vancouver, BC.

This is a six-month contract position with the opportunity to be considered for a permanent full-time role based on performance.

What You'll Do

As a Janitor, you'll play an important role in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient facility while supporting our commitment to quality and food safety.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Following all company GMP, SQF, and food safety policies and procedures
• Carrying out responsibilities identified in the Purdys Quality Management System, including required documentation and quality checks
• Cleaning production and common areas throughout the facility
• Removing garbage and recycling materials daily
• Completing preventative maintenance tasks and maintaining accurate records
• Supporting workplace safety initiatives and helping identify potential hazards
• Assisting with other duties as required

You Are a Great Fit If You:

• Are available to work Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM
• Communicate effectively in spoken and written English
• Enjoy working collaboratively and contributing to a positive team environment
• Have excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
• Can complete neat, accurate, and legible records and reports
• Are physically capable of performing janitorial and cleaning duties
• Take direction well and work effectively with a variety of people
• Hold an OFA Level 2 or Level 3 certificate (considered an asset)
