Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a part-time custodian/janitor in Calgary to maintain clean, safe facilities. You will perform heavy cleaning, carpet care, wall and glass washing, and high-dusting while supporting a team and following supervisor directions.

Evenings and Saturdays shifts are available; independence and teamwork are valued as you help create a tidy environment for clients and staff.

Qualifications

• Housekeeping/custodian and carpet cleaning experience is an asset.
• WHMIS awareness is an asset.
• Good command of English (spoken and written).
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum and shampoo carpets and upholstery following procedures.
• Dust and damp mop floors following procedures.
• Move equipment and furniture for cleaning and replace correctly.
• Clean assigned areas with specified materials and equipment.
• Wash high-touch areas, walls, glass, furniture, baseboards to maintain a clean environment.
• High dusting of desks, cabinets, shelving, and other areas.
• Complete tasks assigned by supervisor.

Job Summary

How you will make an impact: You will be responsible for keeping buildings clean and orderly, and performing heavy cleaning duties, including cleaning carpets and furniture, washing walls and glass, high-dusting, and removing rubbish.

As a Custodian/ Janitor, you will:

• Vacuum & shampoo carpets and furniture upholstery following approved procedures;
• Dust and damp mops floors following approved procedures;
• Move equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and place furniture back in correct placement;
• Clean assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment;
• Wash high-touch areas, walls, glass, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for clients and staff;
• High dusting of all horizontal surfaces, including desks, cabinets, shelving units, and other areas;
• Seek out areas requiring cleaning; take initiative to complete the task;
• Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor.

About you:

• Previous housekeeping/custodian and carpet cleaning experience is an asset;
• WHMIS awareness is an asset;
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written;
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions;
• Able to work independently and as part of a team;
• Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job.

Part Time position, evenings & Saturdays.
