Job summary

Intact Financial Corporation invites students to launch their tech careers within a diverse Digital, Data and Tech team in Canada. You will join a 35-hour workweek internship for the Winter 2027 term, gaining hands-on experience while contributing to real projects.

You’ll collaborate with senior developers/architects, learn modern architecture practices, and document standards. This role supports growth, inclusion and access to learning platforms. Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in IT/CS or related field.
• Available to work full-time, 35 hours/week, for Winter 2027 (Jan–Apr).
• Must be an active student and returning to school in Summer/Fall 2027.
• Eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Analyze multi-system integrations, identify risks, and propose solutions.
• Adapt to evolving business needs and assess impact on existing solutions under supervision.
• Communicate highly technical solutions to stakeholders at different levels.
• Collaborate with experienced developers and architects to assess solutions.
• Assist in designing IT architecture blueprints aligned with business objectives.
• Research latest tech trends and document architectural standards and reference architectures.
• Participate in evaluating software and hardware to meet business requirements.

What you’ll do here:

• Analyze and understand multi-system integrations, and identify risks and propose solutions.

• Communicate highly technical solutions to multiple levels of stakeholders.
• Collaborate with teams of very experienced developers and architects across the organization to assess solutions.
• Assist in the design and development of IT architecture blueprints that align with business objectives.
• Perform research and stay up to date with the latest technology trends, best practices, and industry standards.
• Collaborate on the documentation of architectural standards, guidelines, and reference architectures.
• Participate in the evaluation and selection of software and hardware solutions that meet business requirements.

Technical Skills required:

• Java
• Python
• Front-end development (React)
• experience with AI coding (VS Code, Co-Pilot, Claude Code, Windsurf, Cursor, etc.)

Nice to have:

• Experience with building projects on Open Source or GitHub
• Hackathon experience

What you bring to the table:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree (or master's, if applicable) in a field related to Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Systems Network or related field.
• Available to work with us full-time, 35 hours per week, for the Winter 2027 Term (January to April).
• Must be an active student during your internship and/or returning to school in next Summer or Fall 2027 following your internship.
• No Canadian work experience required, but must be eligible to work in Canada.
• Having a team player mindset.
• Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
• Adaptability, curiosity, and commitment to continuous learning.
• Excellent communication skills with a passion for technology.
• Self-reliant with a strong sense of responsibility.
