Job summary

Intact Financial Corporation is seeking a motivated co-op in Vancouver to build and test AI products as part of our Digital, Data and Tech teams. You will write clean code, prototype solutions, and validate results with unit tests while translating data into actionable insights for the team.

You will collaborate in an agile squad, document deployment steps, share estimates, and stay current with new AI approaches.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in AI, software engineering, or computer science.
• Available to work full-time, 35 hours/week, Winter 2027 (Jan–Apr).
• Active student during internship and/or returning to school in Summer/Fall 2027.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada.
• Knowledge: OOP, Python, CI/CD, design patterns, AWS, Gen AI, and Agentic AI.

Responsibilities

• Build and test AI products: write clean code, create small prototypes, and validate your work with unit tests.
• Turn complex data into insights: help analyze datasets and translate findings into clear recommendations for the team.
• Collaborate in an agile squad: participate in standups, brainstorm technical solutions and use Confluence/Jira for collaboration.
• Ship with confidence: document how things work, support deployments, share updates/estimates, and help teammates with production handoffs.
• Stay current on new approaches or opportunities and bring them to the solutions you design.
• Prepare technical documentation to deploy and support completed systems.
• Provide estimates and status reports as needed.

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented below is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

Salary range (but not limited to): 66,500 - 83,100

What you bring to the table

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in a field related to artificial intelligence, software engineering, computer sciences, or any other related field.
• Available to work with us full-time, 35 hours per week, for the Winter 2027 Term (January to April).
• Must be an active student during your internship and/or returning to school in next Summer or Fall 2027 following your internship.
• No Canadian work experience required, but must be eligible to work in Canada.
• Required technical skills: Object Oriented Programming (OOP), Python, CI/CD, knowledge of development design patterns, AWS, Gen AI, and Agentic AI.
