Job summary

Intact is offering an IT Technical Advisor intern position in Toronto for Winter 2027. You’ll join a diverse team of Digital, Data, and Tech experts and gain exposure to architecture, multi-system integrations, and modern coding practices while contributing to real projects.

The role requires current enrollment in a relevant IT/CS program, full-time availability (35 hours/week), and eligibility to work in Canada. Strong analytical and collaborative skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree (or master's, if applicable) in IT/CS or related field.
• Available to work full-time, 35 hours per week, Winter 2027 (Jan–Apr).
• Must be an active student during internship and returning to school in Summer/Fall 2027.
• Eligible to work in Canada.
• Team player with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Adaptable, curious and committed to learning.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and understand multi-system integrations and identify risks with proposed solutions.
• Adapt to evolving business needs and assess impact on existing solutions under supervision.

• Assist in designing IT architecture blueprints aligned with business goals.
• Stay updated with latest technologies, practices and standards.
• Contribute to documentation of architectural standards and reference architectures.

Salary for the candidate

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented below is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

What you’ll do here:

• Analyze and understand multi-system integrations, and identify risks and propose solutions.
• Adapt to evolving business needs, analyze their impact on existing solutions, and contribute to the required adjustments, under supervision.
• Communicate highly technical solutions to multiple levels of stakeholders.
• Collaborate with teams of very experienced developers and architects across the organization to assess solutions.
• Assist in the design and development of IT architecture blueprints that align with business objectives.
• Perform research and stay up to date with the latest technology trends, best practices, and industry standards.
• Collaborate on the documentation of architectural standards, guidelines, and reference architectures.
• Participate in the evaluation and selection of software and hardware solutions that meet business requirements.
• Technical Skills required: Java, Python, Front-end development (React), experience with AI coding (VS Code, Co-Pilot, Claude Code, Windsurf, Cursor, etc.).
• Nice to have: Experience with building projects on Open Source or GitHub, Hackathon experience.

What You Bring To The Table

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree (or master's, if applicable) in a field related to Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Systems Network or related field.
• Available to work with us full-time, 35 hours per week, for the Winter 2027 Term (January to April).
• Must be an active student during your internship and/or returning to school in next Summer or Fall 2027 following your internship.
• No Canadian work experience required, but must be eligible to work in Canada.
