Job description

We’re looking for a skilled IT System Administrator - Fire Services to lead and support the mission-critical technology systems that power our Fire Department operations — including 911 dispatch, mobile data terminals, and records management systems.

This is a unique opportunity to make a direct impact on public safety through innovative and reliable IT solutions.

What You’ll Do :

  • Manage and support Fire Services IT systems : CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) , RMS (Records Management Systems) , mobile tech, radio, and telephony.
  • Lead system upgrades, software deployments, and IT change initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure high-performance and reliable operations.
  • Serve as the go-to technical expert during system incidents and outages.
  • Deliver training, maintain documentation, and support end users.
  • Be the first point of contact for after-hours IT incidents (on-call rotation).

What You Bring :

  • Diploma in Computer Science or related field, plus 5+ years in IT system administration (especially public safety or emergency services tech) .
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL, mobile infrastructure, and radio / telephony systems ( Avaya, Cisco ).
  • Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • IT certifications (A+, MCSE, Cisco, ITIL) are assets.
  • Valid G-class driver’s license and ability to lift to 50 lbs.
