Job description

Drive security, reliability, and automation across our hybrid Microsoft-first environment, maintaining the infrastructure supporting over 600 employees in the office, in the field, and behind the wheel. We are a forward-thinking, technology-heavy company, with diverse and modern infrastructure featuring extensive hybridization and automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and evolve our on-prem Active Directory and Entra/M365 ecosystem (including ongoing projects like the transition from GPO to InTune-managed Windows endpoints and Autopilot adoption)
  • Manage and optimize network infrastructure including, Fortigate firewalls and Unifi switches and access points (including ongoing projects like the transition from Fortinet’s SSLVPN to IPSec client VPN and improved SD-WAN resiliency)
  • Maintain an 802.1x network configuration using Network Policy Server (NPS), and improve network hardening through stricter VLAN segmentation, and expanded SIEM alerting
  • Develop and maintain tasks using PowerShell and Power Automate to automate tasks including user account management, certificate upkeep, report generation, approval workflows, and software deployment.
  • Integrate with Microsoft Graph and many line-of-business app REST APIs to orchestrate cross-platform operations and feed data warehouse pipelines.
  • Mentor other technical staff in basic scripting, network technologies, and security practices.
  • Maintain and expand company technical documentation.
  • Perform disaster recovery simulation and support disaster recovery execution

Requirements

  • 5+ yrs in systems/network administration across hybrid Windows/M365 environments.
  • Expertise in PowerShell scripting and automation, including API interactions (e.g., Microsoft Graph)
  • Strong experience with Intune (device compliance, app deployment, policy management)
  • Strong experience with firewall management (VPNs, policies, troubleshooting) and general networking (VLANs, routing, load balancing/failover, etc.)
  • Experience configuring 802.1x network authentication and Network Policy Server (NPS)
  • Familiarity with Git for script and config management (GitHub, Azure DevOps)
  • Familiarity with Linux and containerization
  • Familiarity with Apple Business Manager

Nice-to-Have

  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or any data transformation and analysis tools (PowerQuery, Power BI, pandas, etc.)
  • Exposure to orchestration tools (Power Automate or Azure Logic Apps, Ansible, etc.)
  • Experience utilizing Veeam backup and recovery software
  • Experience utilizing agent-based AI tools
  • Located in or near one of our office spaces in BC (Kelowna, Fraser Valley, Terrace, Valemount)
