Job summary

Geotab offers an 8-month IT Support Intern role starting January 2027. The paid internship covers hands-on technical assistance for staff onsite and remote, collaborating with level 3 teams to follow IT standards.

You’ll gain experience across devices, OSes, and Google Workspace in a global IoT environment. Participants will resolve incidents, manage devices, assist onboarding/offboarding, document processes, and help improve service operations while contributing to a secure, efficient IT

Geotab is seeking a IT Support Intern who will provide technical assistance within Geotab's computer systems for staff onsite and remote, working with level 3 teams for specific technical activities and ensuring IT standards are followed in Geotab's offices. What you'll do:

• Resolving tickets through the Service Desk ticketing system while maintaining Geotab's SLOs.
• Installing, moving, adding and changing systems related to workstations and cell phones.
• Software installation in Windows, ChromeOS, Ubuntu and Mac workstations.
• Assisting with onboarding and offboarding of employees, which includes arranging and/or preparing equipment for shipping/receiving, communicating electronically (and in-person) with desktop users experiencing technical difficulties by troubleshooting and documenting problems, and maintaining office spaces within Geotab's IT standards (monitors, peripherals, meeting rooms).
• Tracking IT asset inventory, assisting in technical upgrading and maintaining of entire computer systems.
• Maintaining meeting rooms and A/V equipment (large screens, projectors, televisions, etc.).
• Looking after user account administration (Google workspace).
• Work closely with All of Geotab's departments by providing support on IT systems.

The opportunity:

8-month work-term beginning January 2027.

Full-time, paid internship: Monday - Friday, 37.5hrs/week.

Your first week at Geotab begins with 'GEO Launch' - a one-week Employee Orientation.

How you'll make an impact:

• Assisting users on incident resolution to reduce downtime during service.
• Work closely on cell phone management, devices, and laptops (including Windows, Macs, Linux, Chromebooks) and create documentation and participate in process improvements to deliver a more efficient service.
• Assist with the setup and management of user accounts, including onboarding new employees, handling account access issues, and supporting offboarding processes.
• Participating in the test and implementation of Asset Management tools for the Service Operations team.
• Participating in the test and implementation of an MDM tool for device administration and service operations.
• Assisting in security operations by patching OS and making sure Geotab's systems comply with security standards.
• Process user access requests and manage identity permissions for company software and cloud applications.
• Provision, print, and issue physical access badges for office entry and site security.
