Job description

IT Support Assistant

Most IT support roles keep you reacting to tickets. This one puts you at the centre of a global technology experience, supporting colleagues across Toronto, Vancouver, London and Australia while helping shape how support is delivered.

Nous Group is an international management consultancy. We work with leaders across North America, the United Kingdom and Australia to solve their most complex challenges and navigate transformational change.

We bring together multidisciplinary teams to partner with clients and develop practical solutions that deliver lasting impact for businesses, governments and communities.

Our purpose is positive influence. We are driven to improve people's lives by working with our clients to deliver outcomes that matter, strengthening organisations, supporting communities and realising a bigger idea of success.

About the role

The IT Support Assistant plays a critical role in helping colleagues get the most from their technology, ensuring a reliable, responsive and high-quality end-user experience across the business. Based in Toronto and reporting to the Head of IT Infrastructure and Operations, you will provide Level 1 and Level 2 support to colleagues across Toronto, Vancouver, London and Australia.

We operate a hybrid model, with team members typically working four days in the office and one day from home.

This is a broad, hands-on support role where no two days look quite the same. You will work across end-user support, Windows devices, Microsoft 365, onboarding, asset management and service improvement initiatives, while becoming the go-to technology contact for colleagues across Toronto, Vancouver and London. Working closely with a global IT team, you will enjoy a high degree of ownership and responsibility while supporting users across Australia and helping deliver a seamless technology experience across the business.

What you'll do
  • Deliver responsive Level 1 and Level 2 support that enables colleagues across Toronto, Vancouver, London and Australia to work productively and confidently.
  • Become the go-to technology contact for colleagues, resolving issues across Windows devices, Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook, printers, audio visual, network, mobile devices and standard business applications.
  • Support seamless onboarding and offboarding activities through effective account provisioning, hardware preparation, software deployment and device lifecycle management.
  • Strengthen operational reliability through accurate ticket management, asset tracking, knowledge sharing and clear documentation.
  • Contribute to technology rollouts, service improvements and operational enhancements that improve how support is delivered across the business.
What will help you succeed
  • 2+ years in IT support or service desk roles, with demonstrated experience in providing Level 1 and Level 2 desktop support in a Microsoft environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across the Microsoft 365 stack.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and endpoint management technologies such as Microsoft Intune.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals such as DNS, DHCP, VPN and Wi‑Fi troubleshooting.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a global team.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to documentation and process adherence.
  • Experience within a corporate or professional services environment will be highly regarded.
  • Candidates with more than three years of relevant experience, and exposure to mentoring or leading a small team, are encouraged to apply.
Why join

This role offers the variety and responsibility often missing from traditional service desk positions. You will support colleagues across multiple regions, work across a broad technology environment and become a visible part of the day‑to‑day operation of our northern hemisphere offices.

No two days look quite the same. One day you may be troubleshooting Microsoft 365 issues, preparing devices for new starters or supporting colleagues in London. The next, you could be helping deliver a technology rollout, improving documentation or working with teammates in Australia to resolve more complex issues. You will have the support of a global team, while enjoying the autonomy that comes with being the primary technology contact in a smaller office environment.

Our Toronto team works closely with colleagues in Vancouver, London and Australia, creating opportunities to learn from different perspectives and build strong international relationships.

The expected base salary for this role is between $60,000 and $80,000 CAD annually. Final salary may vary based on experience and qualifications.

Finally, the important details...

Nous is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.
