Job summary

ProServeIT Corporation is seeking an IT Operations Intern (Co-op Student) to support the IT Operations team in delivering technical support, maintaining IT systems, and assisting with day-to-day technology operations. You will gain hands-on experience with end-user support, Microsoft 365 administration, hardware deployments, system monitoring, documentation, and IT security best practices.

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Have basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
• Familiar with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 applications.
• Have basic understanding of networking concepts, including IP addressing, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and TCP/IP.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support to internal users for hardware, software, and IT-related issues.
• Assist with responding to and resolving helpdesk tickets while providing excellent customer service.
• Support the setup, configuration, testing, and deployment of computers, monitors, printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
• Assist with Microsoft 365 administration, including user account management, mailbox support, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
• Perform routine system checks and assist in monitoring the health and performance of IT systems and services.
• Assist with inventory management, asset tracking, and hardware lifecycle activities.
• Support user onboarding and offboarding activities, including account creation, access provisioning, and equipment preparation.
• Help troubleshoot basic networking issues involving internet connectivity, Wi-Fi, VPN access, printers, and shared resources.
• Participate in system upgrades, software deployments, migrations, and technology improvement initiatives.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, user guides, knowledge base articles, and process documentation.
• Support IT security initiatives by following established security procedures and assisting with security awareness activities.
• Conduct research on emerging technologies and provide recommendations where applicable.
• Assist the Infrastructure team with special projects and operational initiatives as required.
