Job summary

LeverageTek Staffing Solutions in Ottawa is seeking an IM/IT Manager to lead the customer’s enterprise architecture, cybersecurity program, and IT service management. You will provide strategic guidance, lead an IT team, and coordinate with external vendors, with one on-site day per week at the customer headquarters in Ottawa.

The role requires a CS degree, strong cybersecurity and change-management background, and bilingual English/French capabilities.

Job description

LeverageTek is actively seeking an IM/IT Manager for a permanent, full-time position with its Ottawa-based customer.

Work Location

The successful candidate will be required to work 1 day per week on-site at the customer headquarters in Ottawa.

Key Tasks

• Provide professional and operational leadership for the development and advancement of the customer's Enterprise Architecture approaches and processes
• Deliver strategic and tactical advice to advance priorities identified in the IM/IT strategic vision and Enterprise Architecture roadmap
• Lead development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the cybersecurity program
• Lead a team of IT professionals supporting all IM/IT equipment, on-premises and cloud-based applications, and infrastructure
• Oversee IT professionals by defining and prioritizing goals, providing guidance, work direction, and staff development
• Establish annual performance objectives and conduct performance reviews for direct reports
• Own the ITIL Change Management process to ensure availability, reliability, and accountability across IM/IT services
• Oversee day-to-day identification of priorities and delivery of sustainment and maintenance programs, including the Service Desk and cybersecurity program
• Identify and pursue opportunities with third-party Managed Service Providers; support contracting and procurement processes
• Oversee business relationships with Managed Service Providers, including SLA enforcement, dispute resolution, and service improvements
• Implement and follow SDLC methodologies to ensure efficient system introduction and ongoing IP compliance
• Provide guidance on the implementation of AI initiatives
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with executive leadership and lines of business
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with external stakeholders, consultants, vendors, and public sector entities

Key Qualifications

• Bilingual Imperative (SISS) with valid official language test results already in hand
• 5-10 years of experience in a managerial IT role, including leadership of IT teams, Service Desk operations, and cybersecurity program responsibility
• Secret security clearance (or eligibility to obtain)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong background in cybersecurity, digital transformation, and change management
• Experience in a Crown corporation or federal government environment
• Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture, zero-trust cybersecurity architecture, and ITIL Change Management
• Familiarity with SDLC methodologies and cloud-based infrastructure
• Experience with SharePoint and IT service management environments
• Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
• Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
