Job description

Traveling IT Field Engineer. Statewide Travel REQUIRED

This position is expected to last approximately one year, with the possibility of converting to a full-time employee after that period.

Position Details:

• Support 4 regional labs and 10 regional offices.
• Provide PC, software, printer, peripherals, Logitech Teams collaboration spaces, and basic networking support. Experience with workstations, peripherals, printers, and networking is required. Router, switch, and firewall configuration are not part of this role, but understanding how to request changes is necessary.
• Experience with IT Service Management ticketing systems.
• Provide general end-user support, training, and assistance with a friendly demeanor.
• Assist in modernizing lab equipment to integrate with CoreOne LIMS system.
• Travel 3-4 times weekly, including at least one overnight stay. Reimbursements for meals and incidentals will follow state policies.
• Work 40 hours weekly, with potential flexible scheduling to minimize overtime, which requires prior approval.
• Use of a state vehicle with a gas card is required; valid driver’s license and clean driving record are mandatory.
• Maintain the vehicle through state fleet services. The contractor's company will cover workers' compensation; the state insures the vehicle.
• Present a professional appearance.
• Applicants may be considered for a full-time role but must undergo the standard recruitment process; no guaranteed conversion.
