ENMAX Corporation is seeking a IT Cyber Security Co-op Student to join the Security Operations Team in Calgary on a hybrid schedule. You must be enrolled in a post-secondary IT program and eligible to work in Canada; familiarity with PowerShell or Python is valued, and basic networking knowledge is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with cyber security awareness initiatives.
  • Triage phishing emails and review SIEM alerts.
  • Support cyber metrics development and reporting.
  • Monitor digital threats via social media channels.
  • Triage initial cyber security incidents and service requests.
  • Document security monitoring processes.
  • Assist with vulnerability management and remediation.
  • Ensure endpoint protection solution compliance.

The IT Cyber Security Co-op Student will be a member of the Security Operations Team which is responsible for protecting ENMAX's digital assets. The successful student will participate in initiatives in the areas of cyber security awareness, phishing incident response, social media threats monitoring, Systems Information Event Monitoring (SIEM), and development and reporting of cyber metrics.

Major Responsibilities
  • Assist team in execution of cyber security awareness initiatives
  • Perform basic Security Operations Center (SOC) duties including triaging of phishing emails and reviewing general Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) alerts
  • Assist team with cyber metrics development and reporting
  • Review digital cyber threats through social media monitoring
  • Perform initial triage of cyber security incidents and service request
  • Document processes related to security monitoring
  • Assist team in vulnerability management (assessment and remediation)
  • Endpoint protection solution compliance and operational maintenance
Education Required
  • Enrolled in a Post-Secondary Information Technology, Information Systems or Computer Science program (from 1st year to 4th year)
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
Qualifications & Experience
  • Computer and applications knowledge
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI etc.)
  • Beginner level of computer networking knowledge & skills
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python considered an asset

Salary

Co-Op IT, Computer Technology (CUPE 2026 rates) $24.82 - $26.27 - $28.39

Location

This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) workforce with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will have the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays and work in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
