Job description

Our client, a large insurance firm, is looking to hire 1 IT contract specialist to join their team in downtown Toronto!

The candidate ideally has 8-10 years of experience working in a legal assistant/paralegal position drafting/interpreting IT contracts/corporate contracts and/or has worked on contracts within a financial industry or insurance company.

Typical Day in Role

Outline all daily duties, responsibilities, tasks, and accountabilities:

1. Reviewing contracts to ensure ML contract language is included where necessary or as needed.
2. Managing an inbox – actioning requests coming in to review contracts.
3. Reviewing contracts for medium risk vendors.
4. Assisting with organizing the team.

Qualifications

1. 8-10 years of experience as a paralegal/legal assistant.
2. Demonstrated experience with contract clauses required – reading, writing, and interpreting clauses.
3. Experience with drafting/interpreting IT contracts/corporate contracts and/or have worked on contracts within a financial industry or insurance company.
4. General procurement, vendor management, third-party risk knowledge is required.
5. Organizational skills are a must.
6. Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).

Education:

1. Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
2. Paralegal Certification.

Work Environment

Hybrid: 3 days on-site – Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday (Downtown Toronto).

Schedule: 9 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday.

Duration: 9-month contract with potential extension or transition to full-time.

Pay: $30 - $40/hr.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
