Job summary

Johnson Electric is seeking a student IT Co-op to join our Ancaster, ON team onsite. You will provide first-level support, set up PCs, manage software updates, and help maintain security and inventory across our IT resources.

This role emphasizes service, documentation and collaboration with multiple IT departments. Eligible students pursuing Computer Science or related fields will gain hands-on experience with Windows, macOS, Linux, cloud services, and ticketing tools while contributing to

Qualifications

Working toward a degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of experience in automotive manufacturing is an asset.
Ability to communicate clearly and build relationships with teammates and customers.

Responsibilities

Incident Management: provide first-level contact and resolve user problems with hardware, software and apps.
PC Setup and Management: configure PCs for new and existing members.
Ensure PCs meet role requirements with necessary hardware/software.
User Support and Communication: deliver exemplary support and guidance.
Ticket Management: document queries and route to correct resources.
Software Installation and Update: assist with installation and updates.
Hardware and Software Inventory: maintain asset inventory and upgrades.
Security Compliance: ensure PCs follow security policies and practices.
User Training and Onboarding: provide necessary training for system use.
Reporting and Documentation: generate reports and maintain docs.
Collaboration: work with IT teams for resolution and projects.
