About The Role

We’re looking for an IT Business Analyst Specialist to join our growing team!

What You’ll Do Here

• Develop business cases, project charters, and user stories to support data engineering and analytics initiatives.
• Organize and facilitate requirements gathering workshops.
• Perform impact assessments and effort estimations to help prioritize and approve solutions.
• Document solutions efficiently while interacting with Business users and IT teams.
• Define data flow mappings through different layers of the Data Warehouse.
• Define business rules on the Data Warehouse to facilitate KPIs and reporting.
• Support solution development and technical analysis by the team.
• Collaborate with data engineers to define data architecture, integration, and ETL processes.
• Work with data scientists and analysts to understand analytical requirements and deliver insights.
• Facilitate the development of dashboards, reports, and visualizations for decision-making.
• Validate and test data models and analytical solutions to ensure they meet business needs.
• Assist in designing and implementing data pipelines ensuring data quality and reliability.
• Ensure data governance and compliance standards are met.
• Support QA activities and acceptance testing.
• Assist the Product Owner with backlog prioritization and user story documentation.
• Identify and communicate impacts on business processes to support change management.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation accessible to all stakeholders.
  
  

What You Bring To The Table

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Administration, or related field.
• 8-10 years of IT BA experience in data engineering and analytics environments.
• Strong understanding of relational data modeling (Data Vault, 3NF, Dimensional).
• Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL, and data integration concepts.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, BI tools (Power BI, Business Objects).
• Experience with data profiling and quality assessment tools.
• Strong Oracle/Snowflake database knowledge and PL/SQL skills.
• Understanding of ETL processes.
• Knowledge of insurance industry concepts (Claims, Policy).
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
• English required; French is an asset.
• No Canadian work experience required but must be eligible to work in Canada.
