Job summary

Huawei Canada is seeking an IT Associate Manager for a 12-month contract to manage regional data centers and IT infrastructure. The role covers server, storage, network devices, and related systems, ensuring smooth operations and incident handling.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in CS or IT, at least 4 years in data center management, and familiarity with Windows and Linux environments. Exposure to data center O&M and ITIL basics is valued.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years relevant experience in data center management.
  • Familiar with IT devices such as servers and networks, and LAN switching & routing.
  • Experience in data center O&M management is a plus (cooling, power distribution).
  • Familiar with ITIL and computer networks basics; Windows and Linux admin experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for regional/office data center implementation and maintenance.
  • Responsible for system implementation and maintenance (Windows Server, web apps, DB, storage).
  • Manage IT infrastructure construction and maintenance.
  • Handle routine changes and incidents for data center infra, servers, and network devices.
  • Oversee service provider quotations, bidding, and supervision of engineering work.

About the job
  • Responsible for regional/office data center implementation and maintenance
  • Responsible for system implementation and maintenance, including windows server system, web application system, database and storage system
  • Responsible for IT infrastructure construction and maintenance
  • Handle routine changes and incidents related to Huawei's data center infrastructure, servers, and network devices, and ensuring the smooth operation of business
  • Service provider quotation, bidding, negotiation and supervising the engineering work provided by service provider
  • Responsible for IT devices such as servers and networks - LAN switching, routing, and maintenance
  • Implement IT standard/policy in responsible offices. Analyze business requirement and initiate the IT project to satisfy the requirement

The total target annual compensation for this position ranges from $48,000 - $94,000 depending on education, experience, and demonstrated expertise.

Job requirements

About the ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or IT related areas
  • At least 4 years relevant experience in data center management
  • Be familiar with IT devices such as servers and networks, and have a good command of IT device hardware knowledge, LAN switching, routing, and other related professional knowledge and maintenance experience
  • Experience in data center O&M management is an asset, such as experience in construction or maintenance management of data center cooling or power supply and distribution systems
  • Be familiar with ITIL, and have a good command of the basic principles of computer networks and operating systems
  • Have certain skills in maintaining and managing Windows and Linux operating systems. Relevant certifications is an asset
  • Have a basic understanding of the power supply and distribution system, air conditioning and cooling system, and fire extinguishing system and devices in data centers
  • Be familiar with the data center network and the configuration of common network devices
