Job summary

iA Financial Group is seeking an IT Analyst to contribute to the evolution of strategic solutions in group insurance. The role involves analysis, support, validation, and delivery of technology solutions, with a focus on quality assurance and modernization of a complex application environment.

You will join a multidisciplinary team in an Agile setting, collaborating with business partners and IT teams to ensure robust, sustainable solutions and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration (IT profile), or another relevant field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in IBM i environments.
  • Proactive use of AI tools to optimize work and improve quality.
  • Strong understanding of batch processing and legacy systems.
  • Experience delivering IT projects in multidisciplinary Agile teams and documenting solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business needs and define technology solutions for group insurance challenges.
  • Document, validate, and understand business processes and functional/technical solutions.
  • Analyze legacy IBM i systems to support evolution and integration.
  • Understand batch processing, data flows, and integrations for solution operation.
  • Perform code reviews and run analyses to support design and enhancements.
  • Write and execute SQL queries and scripts for analyses and validations.
  • Participate in QA activities: test strategy, scenarios, functional/regression testing, defect documentation.
  • Collaborate with business, development, QA, and IT stakeholders in an Agile environment.
  • Contribute to quality, traceability, maintainability across the delivery lifecycle.
  • Support modernization initiatives and knowledge sustainability within the team.

As an IT Analyst, you will play a key role in the analysis, support, validation, and delivery of technology solutions that help achieve business objectives and support the transformation of our systems.

In our environment, IT Analysts also contribute to quality assurance activities. They participate in test strategy development, the preparation and execution of validation scenarios, and the analysis of test results to ensure solutions adequately meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the analysis of business needs and the definition of technology solutions tailored to group insurance challenges.
  • Contribute to the understanding, documentation, and validation of business processes as well as functional and technical solutions.
  • Analyze legacy systems, particularly IBM i environments, to support the evolution and integration of solutions.
  • Understand batch processing, data flows, and application integrations required for the effective operation of solutions.
  • Perform code reviews and analysis to support investigation, design, and system enhancement activities.
  • Write and execute SQL queries and various scripts required for analyses and validations.
  • Actively participate in quality assurance activities, including defining test strategies, preparing test scenarios, executing functional and regression tests, and documenting results and defects.
  • Collaborate closely with business partners, development teams, quality assurance teams, and other IT stakeholders in an Agile environment.
  • Contribute to the quality, traceability, and maintainability of deliverables throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Participate in modernization initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and knowledge sustainability within the team.
  • Provide production support and contribute to maintaining application availability on a daily basis.
What Could Accelerate Your Success in This Role
We Are Looking for Someone Who:
  • Holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration (IT profile), or another relevant field.
  • Has a minimum of five to ten years of relevant experience in IBM i environments.
  • Uses artificial intelligence tools proactively, responsibly, and effectively to optimize work, improve deliverable quality, and contribute to the continuous improvement of team practices and processes.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of batch processing and legacy systems.
  • Has experience delivering IT projects, performing functional or technical analysis, and collaborating with multidisciplinary Agile teams.
  • Is recognized for the ability to analyze business needs, document solutions, and contribute to the quality of deliverables.
  • Has a solid understanding of quality assurance practices, test case design, and the execution of functional, integration, and regression testing.
  • Stands out for autonomy, rigor, curiosity, and strong analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Has knowledge of the group insurance industry.
  • Possesses a good understanding of IT delivery practices and tools, including change management and deliverable documentation.
  • Has strong knowledge of SQL databases and script execution.
  • Is familiar with modern software development approaches, including Agile, MVP, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD), REST, and SOAP.
  • Shows a strong interest in modernization, continuous improvement, and knowledge sustainability.
  • Knowledge of the group insurance sector is considered a significant asset.
  • Has an intermediate level of English proficiency, as the incumbent will be required to communicate, analyze, and explain operational and technical issues to English-speaking business partners and users on a monthly basis.
