Job summary

Scandinavian Building Services, a Canada-wide leader in cleanings, seeks an IT Analyst (Contract) in Edmonton. Join our Scandi Family to support users, troubleshoot devices, and coordinate onboarding with MSP partners. The role combines hands-on IT support with user training in a hybrid work setting.

Requirements include 2+ years in a helpdesk role, knowledge of Windows 11/365, ADUC, and VoIP systems. We offer medical/dental benefits and a family-friendly culture as part of a stable national

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a helpdesk role with an IT focus.
  • Post secondary education in Information Technology or a related discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the IT team and MSP to ensure users receive appropriate service and support.
  • Escalate concerns or issues with service providers as required.
  • Basic network troubleshooting; DHCP, DNS, PING, FTP, VPN.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers and telecommunication systems.
  • Onboard and offboard users; coordinate setup/termination with internal team & MSP.
  • Train users on technology solutions as required.

This is a contract position until February 2027

Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Hybrid)

(1-hour lunch: 30 minutes paid, 30 minutes unpaid

What your day to day will look like:
  • Work closely with the IT team & MSP to ensure that all users receive appropriate service and support, escalating as required
  • Escalate any concerns or issues with service providers as required
  • Basic network troubleshooting; DHCP, DNS, PING, FTP, VPN
  • Investigate and troubleshoot any issues that arise related to Laptops, Desktops, cell phones, tablets, telephone/conference systems, printers/scanners/fax machines or internet providers
  • Aid organizations users by understanding the issue and its cause, explaining the problem to the user in a clear and helpful manner
  • Basic knowledge of ADUC, pertaining to new account creation, disabling accounts password MGMT
  • Coordinate the onboarding and offboarding of all users; requesting set up/termination with the internal team & MSP
  • Conduct the set up and change over of all mobile devices
  • Conduct training with users on all technology solutions as required.
What you’ll need to succeed:
  • Post Secondary Education in Information Technology or a related discipline (preferred)
  • Experience managing mobile devices, networks, and VoIP systems (8x8 experience considered an asset)
  • Must have minimum 2 years experience in a helpdesk role with an IT focus
  • Good technical knowledge of the following Microsoft suite; Windows 11, 365, SharePoint, OneDrive & MS Teams
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time management skills, ensuring that requests are responded to in a timely manner to service issues and requests, offering exceptional customer service
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, coupled with great interpersonal skills
Our interview process:
  • 20 minute preliminary phone interview with our Recruiter
  • 20-40 minute assessment (depending on optional practice questions or breaks)
  • MS Teams video interview with Hiring Manager and direct Supervisor
    • Round 1: 30 minute MS teams interview with Hiring Manager
    • Round 2: 30 minute MS Teams interview with Hiring Manager and Direct Supervisor
