Job summary

Tacten Industrial Inc. is seeking three IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technicians to support industrial projects across Canada, based in Kitimat or Sparwood with frequent site travel.

You will lead rope access crews, plan activities, assess risks, develop rescue plans, and ensure IRATA standards are followed while maintaining safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• IRATA Level 3 Certification required.
• 2+ years of IRATA Level 3 experience in industrial environments.
• Current first aid certification.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise rope access crews, ensuring activities follow IRATA standards and procedures.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate rope access activities, including worksite setup and equipment requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures.
• Develop and oversee rope access rescue plans and ensure emergency procedures are understood by the crew.
• Supervise maintenance, inspection, and repair activities at height.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Level 1 and Level 2 technicians.
• Inspect and maintain rope access equipment per inspection and certification requirements.
• Maintain records of activities, inspections, and safety documentation.
• Collaborate with site management, clients and other trades for safe project execution.

Position Summary

Tacten Industrial Inc. is seeking three (3) experienced, IRATA-certified Level 3 Rope Access Technicians to join our team and support industrial projects across Canada.

Work Location:

Primary office locations are in Kitimat, and Sparwood British Columbia. The role requires frequent travel to various project sites across British Columbia.

Start date: Work commencing in 2027.

Terms of Employment: Permanent, full time

Wage:Hourly wage rate of $51.50 to $57.62 CDN, depending on experience and relevant technical qualifications, straight time. Overtime of 1.5X is payable as per applicable provincial employment standards. Additional bonuses and premiums are payable for evening or night. Eligible for wage increases and bonuses at company’s discretion in accordance with company policy. Vacation pay is provided at a rate of 6%.

Language of work:Fluent English skills (written and spoken) are a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

An IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technician provides technical leadership and supervision to rope access crews performing a wide range of industrial services at height. The role is responsible for ensuring the safe and effective execution of rope access activities, including work planning, site organization, risk management, and crew supervision.

The successful candidate will ensure all rope access operations comply with IRATA standards, company safety procedures, and client requirements while supporting a strong culture of safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise rope access crews, ensuring all activities are performed safely and in accordance with IRATA standards and procedures.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate rope access activities, including worksite setup, rigging systems, and equipment requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and implement appropriate safety measures.
• Develop and oversee rope access rescue plans and ensure emergency response procedures are established and understood by all crew members.
• Supervise industrial maintenance, inspection, and repair activities performed at height.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to Level 1 and Level 2 Rope Access Technicians.
• Inspect and maintain rope access equipment, ensuring compliance with inspection and certification requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of rope access activities, equipment inspections, and safety documentation.
• Work collaboratively with site management, clients, and other trades to ensure safe and efficient project execution.

Requirements

• IRATA Level 3 Certification required
• A thorough understanding of applicable rope access applications, and comprehensive knowledge of theory, equipment and rigging, maneuvers, climbing and hauling and advanced rescue techniques
• A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience as an IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technician working within a variety of industrial environments.
• Current first aid certification
• A valid drivers’ license is preferred
• Ability to work effectively within a diverse team
• Ability to work productively in a variety of adverse conditions
• Physical and psychological fitness, with the ability to successfully submit to drug and alcohol testing on a random schedule
