Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking an Investment Operations Analyst in the Greater Toronto Area. You will maintain daily cash balances, support forecasting, and perform reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting for investment teams.

You will collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, and custodial banks to support investment operations and maintain internal controls, KPIs, and regulatory awareness.

Qualifications

• Analytical and problem solving abilities; detail-oriented and accurate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
• Progress toward or completion of a CFA designation preferred; strong foundation in finance concepts.

Job description

• Maintain and monitor daily cash balances and support cash forecasting to ensure accurate reporting for investment teams.
• Perform internal and external reconciliations in accordance with established policies; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, asset managers, and internal teams to support investment operations and deliver high-quality service.
• Liaise with custodial banks and settlement teams to manage account activity and resolve issues.
• Support account lifecycle activities including contributions, withdrawals, audits, and account closures.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and assist in enhancing operational workflows and reconciliations.
• Ensure adherence to KPIs, SLAs, and internal controls.
• Stay informed on regulatory and industry developments impacting investment operations.
• Provide support across operational and trade support functions as needed.

Qualifications

• Progress toward or completion of a professional designation (e.g., CFA) is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in investment operations, asset management, or a similar environment.
• Knowledge of financial instruments such as fixed income, equities, derivatives, and alternative investments.
• Familiarity with investment systems and tools (e.g., portfolio management platforms, reconciliation tools, data visualization software) is an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.

Pay Rate

$40.00/Hour

You must currently reside within the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity.
