Job description

We are seeking an Inventory Specialist to join our team in Delta, BC. This role involves managing and organizing inventory, ensuring accuracy, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Position: Inventory Specialist

Status: Regular Full Time, 40 hours/week

Department: Inventory

Location: Derwent - Delta, BC, Canada

Reports to: Production Planning Lead

About the Role

The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for managing company inventory, ensuring materials, products, and supplies are properly accounted for, stored, and distributed.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate replenishment and inventory management
  • Oversee accuracy of materials issuances by Stock Room
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies and monitor negative inventory weekly
  • Conduct monthly physical inventory counts and analyze discrepancies
  • Establish and review Min/Max levels biannually
  • Manage activities related to inventory usage, including picking, packing, and recording in ERP system
  • Maintain inventory transactions and put away Stock Room items
  • Coordinate work orders, print picking lists, and prioritize kitting and kit assembly
  • Monitor backorders and provide feedback for customer commitments
  • Update and publish inventory metrics
  • Maintain visual management tools in Stock Room
  • Collaborate with Planning, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to optimize inventory levels
  • Follow proper inventory procedures, including cycle counts and physical inventories
  • Lead continuous improvement projects annually
  • Manage bin organization, labels, Kanban replenishment, and stock rotation
  • Maintain 5S housekeeping standards and ensure safety procedures are followed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of MRP, LEAN, KAIZEN principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; D365 experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of Kanban and inventory systems
  • Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset
  • Forklift certification or experience is an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Flexible with shifts and overtime as needed
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
