Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) in Montreal is seeking an Inventory Analyst to optimize inventory health, analyze statistics, and configure replenishment parameters. You will work with Buyers and Warehouse personnel to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

The role requires a Bachelor's in supply chain or related field, strong SQL/Excel/Power BI skills, and fluency in French and English. You will develop databases, run cycle counts, and prepare reports for management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as supply chain, business or math.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in French and English.
  • Experience with databases, spreadsheets, and programming tools.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, Access, SQL Server, VBA and Power BI.
  • Strong analytical, computer, and programming skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve inventory health by analyzing inventory statistics.
  • Configure replenishment system parameters and supplier item data.
  • Review weekly inventory purchase orders before submission.
  • Analyze inventory reports, historical data and purchasing trends.
  • Provide guidance to Buyers and Warehouse personnel.
  • Perform regular inventory analyses and cycle counts.
  • Prepare inventory reports documenting stock levels, variances and KPIs.
  • Present statistics to management and suggest process improvements.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Develop and maintain inventory databases and systems.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and improve inventory health by analyzing inventory statistics to identify fast- and slow-moving products.
  • Configure replenishment system parameters, including item master data, SKU records, min/max levels, and supplier item information.
  • Review, analyze, and validate weekly inventory purchase orders before submission.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of a wide range of inventory reports, historical inventory data, and national purchasing trends.
  • Provide guidance and support to Buyers and Warehouse personnel.
  • Perform regular inventory analyses and cycle count reviews.
  • Prepare inventory reports documenting stock levels, variances, and key performance metrics.
  • Present inventory statistics to management and recommend improvements to inventory control processes.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and receiving issues.
  • Develop and maintain inventory databases and systems to ensure accurate inventory management and reporting.
Qualifications

To Join Our Team:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.
  • Experience working with databases, spreadsheets, and programming tools.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, SQL Server, VBA, and Microsoft Power BI; experience with additional programming languages is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical, computer, and programming skills.
