Join to apply for the Inventory Control Supervisor role at Martin Brower UK and Ireland.

Position Summary: This role leads the effective supervision and administration of the distribution centre's inventory management program. All supply chain activities, including inbound freight scheduling, receipt, inventory management, quality incidents, and audits, are supported by this leader.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, this candidate’s mandate is to ensure the highest levels of inventory accuracy and adherence to standard processes and policies daily.

Position Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Leads the local inventory compliance team, ensuring proper resourcing, training, and organization to maintain high supply levels.
  • Responsible for overseeing and administering Martin Brower’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) from an inventory perspective.
  • Manages Phase In/Phase Out processes, New Product Introductions, Slotting, and expired products.
  • Monitors damage and distress programs, ensuring defective products are properly allocated and coded.
  • Leads standard receiving processes, monitoring productivity and accuracy.
  • Runs system reports to maintain data integrity across multiple systems.
  • Collaborates with the Supply Chain team to optimize throughput, storage, and capacity.
  • Reconciles inventory discrepancies, focusing on financial performance.
  • Assists with quality audits to promote continuous improvement.
  • Supports supplier quality claims within the Sync4S quality application.
  • Manages on-hold products, ensuring proper tagging and quarantine procedures.
  • Coordinates stock recovery efforts, tracking impacted products.
  • Uses data analytics to identify issues and recommend improvements.
  • Ensures proper management of temperature probes used for quality inspections.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, postgraduate degree, or technical certification.
  • 3-5 years experience in food handling distribution/processing, preferably in restaurant trade.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and influencing skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities with clear action planning.
  • Critical thinking to identify irregularities.
  • Excellent presentation and analytical skills.
  • Accountability for team and self-performance, with coaching skills.
  • High initiative, self-motivation, and leadership qualities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% (primarily Canada & US).
  • Must pass background and drug tests.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bilingual (French/English).
  • Strong data and analytical skills.
  • Lean training and experience.
  • Knowledge of G.F.S.I. quality programs and HACCP certification.
