Pratt & Whitney Canada is offering a Labour Relations internship located on-site at our Longueuil campus. The role supports the employer and its representatives on labour relations matters across Quebec, Canada, and internationally.

You will work within a dynamic Labour Relations team under experienced supervision, contributing to database development, policy analysis, and training content creation.

Qualifications

  • Eligible to work in Canada.
  • Enrolled in a Canadian university throughout internship.
  • Able to work on-site in the province of hire.
  • Pursuing a degree in Industrial Relations or Human Resources.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in developing and organizing the internal reference database for interpretation, precedents, or application of the law or the Collective Agreement.
  • Assist Labour Relations managers in disciplinary processes following investigations by HR Partners.
  • Attend meetings with Labour Relations managers and HR Partners on labour relations topics.
  • Participate in weekly managerial meetings.
  • Gather and analyze data relating to labour relations files, including analysis of the current Collective Agreement.
  • Conduct research on points of law and jurisprudence in labour relations files.
  • Attend representations in front of legal bodies and help prepare files.
  • Update and structure Labour Relations' SharePoint site.
  • Analyze and update company policies.
  • Assist in developing HR-IR training content and handling logistics.

Internship dates:

January 5 to April 23, 2027

Location:

The position is based at our Longueuil location; internship from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and exclusively on-site.

For this internship, the student will work within the Labour Relations team. Led by an experienced team, the mandate is global. It consists in supporting and counselling the employer and its various representatives through different matters related to labour relations in Quebec, in Canada or internationally. What will your day-to-day look like?
  • Participate in the development and organization of the internal reference database for interpretation, precedents or application of the law or of the actual Collective Agreement, used by local and international Human Resources Business Partners;
  • Assist Labour Relations managers in the various disciplinary process following investigations by Human Resources Business Partners.
  • Participate in meetings with Labour Relations managers and/or Human Resources Business Partners and/or other department managers on various labour relations topics;
  • Participate in weekly managerial meeting;
  • Gather and analyze data relating to labour relations files, mainly analysis of the current Collective Agreement;
  • Conduct research on points of law and analyze the jurisprudence on the various labour relations files;
  • Attend representations in front of the different legal bodies and help in the preparation of the files if necessary;
  • Update and structure the Labour Relations' "sharepoint"

What do you need to be successful?
  • Be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship.
  • Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable.
  • Pursuing a degree in Industrial Relations or Human Resources
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Power Point, Excel, Word)
Assets:
  • Second or third internship would be an asset.
  • Previous work experience in the domain

Although this position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a working knowledge of English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
