Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Canada invites applications for an internship in Development Engineering at our Longueuil site. You will provide technical/operational design and drafting support, adapting procedures and tooling to meet test objectives while leveraging CATIA and engineering principles.

The role requires eligibility to work in Canada, enrollment in a Canadian university, and on-site presence with bilingual communication in French and English to support internal and external collaboration.

Internship dates: January 5th to April 23rd, 2027.


Location: The position is based at our Longueuil location; internship from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and exclusively on-site.

Our expectations:

Provide technical/operational design and drafting support to the Development Engineering organization. Adapt new procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet test objectives. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.


What your day to day will look like:

Experimental design consisting in the:



  • Adaptation of parts or assemblies to specific test requirements.

  • Conception of experimental test sections.

  • Modification of components to measure parameters of specific regions (temperature, pressure, stress, etc.)

  • Design of artificial engine environments around test articles.

  • Assistance to engine programs to attain their certification.

  • Preparation of design reviews when required.

  • Support during manufacturing, assembling and testing of designs.


What you need to be successful:


  • Be eligible to work in Canada

  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship

  • Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable

  • Excellent level in French (spoken/written).

  • A good knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken, is required for this the operational needs of the Employer and the people with whom the [candidate] will interact.

  • An extensive knowledge of mechanical design and drafting, engineering mathematics, geometric tolerancing, manufacturing methods, physics and strength of materials.

  • Desired experience on CATIA or equivalent.

  • Candidate should be organized and dynamic, have good spoken and written communication skills.


Although this position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a working knowledge of English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
