Job summary

Medicine Hat College seeks a temporary, full-time International Student Services Assistant to support international students through onboarding, orientation, advising, referrals, and information sessions. The role also coordinates health insurance and accommodation referrals and leads social and cultural activities.

The position requires a 2-year diploma or equivalent, office experience with MS Office and databases, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 2 year post-secondary diploma in a related field OR an equivalent combination of related work experience and education
• At least 2 years’ experience in an office environment with intermediate to advanced skill level with MS Office software and database systems
• Experience working with diverse populations
• Experience with Student Information Systems is an asset
• Valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract required

Responsibilities

• Provide international students with specialized services, including onboarding, New International Student Orientation, general advising and referrals, information sessions, health insurance, and accommodation referrals
• This position also organizes and leads social and cultural activities specifically for international students
