Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH in Dorval (Canada) offers an 8‑month internship to a 2nd year master’s student in business intelligence. The role blends on-site and virtual work to develop Power BI dashboards for inventory management and spare parts demand governance.

You will collaborate with a data engineer and BI analyst to improve dashboards, automate reporting, and enhance the data lifecycle from collection to visualization, with French and English required.

Qualifications

• 2nd year master's degree in business intelligence or equivalent.
• Strong interest in data transformation and BI.
• Proficiency in French and English, written and spoken.
• Experience with Power BI and Tableau is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to inventory management dashboards and spare parts demand governance.
• Create and improve Power BI dashboards used by management to monitor process health.
• Organize, automate existing dashboards to improve visibility of daily and monthly inventory levels.
• Develop tools and analyses in Power BI to optimize report performance.

What are your contributions to the team?

During your internship, you will contribute and learn to:

• Work with the planning and inventory management teams, as well as our technical team composed of a data engineer and a business intelligence analyst, to produce dashboards related to inventory management and spare parts demand governance.
• Create and improve Power BI dashboards:
  o Used as decision-making tools by the management team, providing an overview of process health to choose the appropriate recovery plan.
  o To help teams detect anomalies and opportunities in stock management and planning.
• In collaboration with inventory control analysts:
  o Organize, improve, and automate existing dashboards to provide better visibility of daily and monthly inventory levels compared to the planned budget.
  o Reduce manual work.
• Develop tools and perform analyses within Power BI to optimize report performance by improving the data lifecycle from collection to their use in dashboards.

How to thrive in this role?

• 2nd year master’s degree in business intelligence or any other equivalent field of study.
• Have a strong interest in data transformation and business intelligence.
• Have strong skills in the use of data visualization tool such a Tableau and Power BI.
• Speak and write in French and English.
• Are autonomous and have resourceful spirit

• Have good ability to learn and adapt.
