Job summary

WSP in Canada invites Civil Engineering interns to join a team that designs and delivers infrastructure projects across Canada. You will work with engineers, designers, and project managers on transportation, municipal infrastructure, land development, and water resources initiatives.

You will assist in calculations, drawings, specs, reports, and data collection, while developing technical skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Office tools, and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering degree program at an accredited university.
• Returning to full-time studies following the internship term.
• Demonstrated interest in transportation, municipal infrastructure, land development, water resources, or construction engineering.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of engineering fundamentals and a willingness to apply classroom learning to real-world challenges.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to learning.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Valid driver's license considered an asset for positions that include field investigations and site visits.

• Research applicable codes, standards, and regulations to support compliant and innovative engineering solutions.
• Prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and project documentation that help drive successful project delivery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to project discussions, coordination efforts, and technical problem-solving.
• Develop your technical expertise while helping deliver sustainable infrastructure solutions that positively impact the built environment.

Compensation

• BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $24.00 – $32.25 per hour


• MB & ON: $22.50 – $30.25 per hour


• Atlantic Provinces & QC: $21.50 – $30.25 per hour

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
