Matchtech Group is seeking an Intermediate Piping Designer to support marine engineering projects within shipbuilding and defence sectors. You will produce detailed piping designs, update layouts, and ensure drawings and data meet project requirements.

You will apply SISS design principles, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to design reviews and change control, developing specialist expertise in piping design through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience in piping design within shipbuilding, marine engineering, defence or related industries.
• Understanding of SISS design requirements and integration of ship systems and services.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications, technical drawings and system information.
• Knowledge of piping layouts, routing, supports and associated engineering documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to design work.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience.

Responsabilités

• Producing detailed piping designs and engineering documentation for shipbuilding and marine projects.
• Applying SISS design principles to support the integration of ship systems and services.
• Creating and updating piping layouts, drawings, schematics and associated design data.
• Working closely with engineers, technical specialists and project teams to develop effective design solutions.
• Reviewing designs to ensure compliance with technical standards, project requirements and applicable defence regulations.
• Supporting design reviews, technical queries and the resolution of piping-related issues.
• Maintaining accurate records and contributing to configuration and change control processes.
